The Henley Partnership
The Partnership has evolved from a shared belief that Henley needs active, determined and collective effort to preserve yet develop the town’s unique qualities.
To achieve this takes a team effort from both the private and public sectors. The combined efforts of the town’s elected representatives, local enterprises and societies - as well as enthusiastic individuals - add up to a powerful resource.
The Partnership has four sections: Arts and Culture, Business & Retail, Environment and Tourism. Detailed introductions, along with action plans and scheduled meetings, for each group can be found elsewhere on this website.
We actively encourage new members, whether you are new to the town or an established part of Henley-on-Thames. There are many benefits of membership of the Partnership and an application form can be downloaded from this site. Our current individual and company members are also listed here.
The partnership aims to act as:
• a generator of new investment in Henley
• a business networking opportunity
• a generator and supporter of new ideas and new events
• a facilitator for new town improvement initiatives
• an interpreter between businesses and local authorities
• a vehicle for government (central and local) spending
• the voice of business.
Management of the Partnership
The Partnership is a limited company and is run by a Board of Directors comprising the Chair of the Partnership and the four Chairs of the Working Groups: Business & Retail, Environment, Tourism and Arts & Culture.
South Oxfordshire District Council's Town Centre Coordinator for Henley works very closely with the Partnership Directors and all are supported by an Events Coordinator, funded this year by the Future Jobs Fund.
Through this simple structure, practical short- and long-term action plans are developed, aimed at complementing and reinforcing those being undertaken by the area's local authorities.
