The Henley Young Partnership (HYP) was recently awarded a Commendation in both the Business & Economy and Partnership & strategic Working categories of the ‘Towns Alive!’ awards for the Southern region. Last week they received their Certificate which will be displayed in Gillotts School.
The Henley Young Partnership was set up as a Working Group of the Henley Partnership in March 2012 in order to provide better links between local schools & colleges and local businesses & other community organisations.
It has been strongly supported since its inception by Gillotts School (see photo attached). Projects and support which its staff and pupils have been involved in include the annual Dragon’s Den competition, designing the Flyers and Posters for Henley’s Living Advent Calendar 2012, and various Master classes from local business people.
Deputy Headteacher Elsa Torres says, “We are very excited to be working with local individuals, businesses and charities through the Henley Young Partnership, and are looking at new ways in which this sort of relationship can develop. We are delighted that the Henley Partnership sees its involvement not as pure philanthropy, but as a genuine investment in the students of Henley and the future of the country.”
